In theater you can wear any hat you like. If you’re sitting in parterre you should take your hat off and then during intermission put it back on.
Dear ladies, when you go for a walk during a sunny day, choose hats made of straw or panama, cause these materials have light texture, so your head can “breath”. If it’s cold outside, you should wear hats and caps made of wool or other warm materials.

During formal events, or different celebrations such as weddings or anniversaries, when it comes to hats, there are no rules, you can wear any hat you like, as long as it suits you and complements your toilette.
